Holiday Party Planning in Bethany Beach: Why Sedona Is Made for the Occasion

The holiday season has a way of filling the calendar quickly.

There are client dinners to plan, teams to celebrate, family gatherings to organize and friends to bring together before the year comes to an end. And while choosing a date can be easy, choosing the right place to host everyone can be a little more complicated.

You want somewhere that feels special without feeling stuffy. A place where the food is worth gathering around, the drinks are something people actually look forward to, and your guests feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.

That's where Sedona comes in.

Located in the heart of Bethany Beach, Sedona offers an intimate restaurant setting for holiday parties, corporate celebrations, client entertaining, family gatherings and other special events.

With creative cuisine, craft cocktails, fine wine and the warm hospitality Sedona has been known for since 1993, your holiday gathering can feel like much more than another event on the calendar.

Planning a Holiday Party for Your Business?

For business owners, the annual holiday party is an opportunity to do something important: bring people together. Your employees spend much of the year working hard, solving problems and taking care of customers. A holiday gathering gives you an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and celebrate what you've accomplished together.

It can also be an opportunity to thank clients, recognize important relationships or simply give your team an evening to enjoy one another's company outside of the workplace.

The setting matters.

A holiday party at Sedona gives your group a restaurant experience built around dinner, conversation and hospitality rather than a conventional banquet-style event.

Your guests can sit down together, enjoy a thoughtfully prepared meal, raise a glass and actually spend time talking. That's what makes a great holiday gathering memorable.

A Bethany Beach Holiday Party With Great Food at the Center

Food should be one of the reasons people are excited about your holiday party—not something that's simply included because an event requires dinner. Sedona's menu gives your gathering the opportunity to feel like a genuine dining experience.

Depending on your event, menus can be developed around multiple courses, shared selections, passed appetizers and other formats appropriate for your group.

Sedona favorites include Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Garlic Peppercorn Filet Mignon, Pan Seared Duck Breast and Fresh Catch, along with house-made desserts such as Sedona Pecan Pie and Darn Good Chocolate Cake. For a holiday celebration, the menu can become part of the occasion itself.

After all, people may forget the agenda from the year-end meeting.

They're much more likely to remember a great dinner.

Start With a Cocktail

A good holiday party shouldn't feel like everyone walks through the door and immediately sits down at a table. There's something special about giving people time to arrive, say hello and catch up before dinner begins. Sedona's cozy bar provides a natural place for that.

Guests can begin the evening with a craft cocktail, a glass of wine or another beverage while everyone arrives and settles in. Sedona's cocktail menu includes all natural fresh-squeezed Orange Crushes, signature Margaritas, Cosmos, Martinis, Old Fashioneds and other specialty cocktails. For groups, beverages can become part of the overall event experience and help set the tone for the evening.

Relaxed.

Social.

Festive.

And distinctly Sedona.

The Right Setting for Corporate Holiday Parties

Corporate holiday parties don't have to feel corporate.

In fact, the best ones often don't.

Whether you're hosting your employees, entertaining clients or bringing together business partners, you want your guests to feel comfortable enough to put work aside for a while.

Sedona offers a setting that allows your group to do exactly that.

Enjoy dinner together. Have a cocktail. Tell stories from the past year. Celebrate accomplishments. Introduce people who don't normally work together.

Most importantly, give everyone a reason to enjoy being together.

For business owners, that's often the real purpose of the holiday party.

Holiday Parties for More Than Just Businesses

Of course, holiday celebrations aren't only for companies.

Sedona can also provide a setting for:

  • Family holiday dinners

  • Friends' holiday gatherings

  • Client appreciation events

  • Team celebrations

  • End-of-year dinners

  • Retirement celebrations

  • Milestone celebrations

  • Holiday parties for local organizations

  • Small group celebrations

  • Private dinners

The important thing is having a setting that allows everyone to enjoy the occasion together.

A Holiday Party in Bethany Beach

For those who live or work in the Delaware beach communities, hosting your holiday party in Bethany Beach has another advantage: you don't have to travel far to create an evening that feels different from an ordinary night out. Sedona is located at 26 North Pennsylvania Avenue in Bethany Beach, close to the beach and boardwalk.

That makes it convenient for local businesses, residents and guests staying in the area. And because Sedona is a restaurant first, your event naturally revolves around what people actually want from a holiday gathering:

Good food. Good drinks. Good conversation.

Planning Earlier Makes Everything Easier

Holiday calendars fill quickly.

Businesses are often trying to find dates that work around employee schedules, family commitments and other end-of-year events. Popular evenings can disappear quickly. That's why we recommend beginning the conversation early. You don't need to have every detail figured out before contacting Sedona.

Start with the basics:

Your preferred date.
Your approximate number of guests.
The type of event you're planning.
And what you'd like the evening to feel like.

From there, we can begin discussing the possibilities.

Private Holiday Events at Sedona

Sedona's private event program is available November through February, making the restaurant available for private gatherings during the winter and holiday season. Our team can work with you to create an event around your group, from the food and beverages to the flow of the evening.

Whether you're planning a company holiday party for your employees, a client appreciation dinner or a gathering with family and friends, the goal is the same:

Create an evening your guests will genuinely enjoy.

Not just another holiday party.

A Sedona experience.

Give Your Team Something to Look Forward To

For business owners, the holiday season is an opportunity to recognize the people who helped make the year possible. You don't need an elaborate production.

Sometimes, the most meaningful gesture is simply bringing everyone together, putting great food on the table, pouring a good glass of wine and giving people permission to relax.

That's what a holiday party should be. And that's exactly the kind of gathering we'd love to create at Sedona.

A Taste of South Africa: An Exclusive Wine Dinner at Sedona

There are dinners you enjoy, and then there are dinners that give you something to talk about long after the last glass has been poured.

On Sunday, September 20, 2026, Sedona Restaurant Bar in Bethany Beach will host an intimate evening centered around South African wine, creative cuisine, and the opportunity to hear directly from the person behind the wines.

A Taste of South Africa will feature Riaan Möller, Head Winemaker of MAN Family Wines, for a private four-course wine dinner pairing four MAN Family Wines with four specially selected courses from the Sedona kitchen. The evening begins at 5:00 PM, with only 58 seats available.

It is an evening designed for people who enjoy great food and wine—but also enjoy discovering something new.

An Evening Built Around the Wine

Wine dinners are at their best when the wine and food aren't simply served alongside one another, but are intentionally brought together.

That's the idea behind A Taste of South Africa.

Each course has been selected to complement a specific MAN Family Wine, creating four different pairings throughout the evening. Guests will also have the opportunity to hear from Riaan Möller, giving the dinner a personal connection to the wines being poured.

MAN Family Wines brings the South African side of the experience, while Sedona brings its creative American cuisine and hospitality to the table.

Sedona has been part of the Bethany Beach dining scene since 1993, with a menu built around creative cuisine, fresh ingredients, craft cocktails, fine wine and house-made desserts.

For one evening, those traditions meet South African winemaking.

The First Course: Ahi Tuna Wontons & Chenin Blanc

The evening begins with one of Sedona's signature starters: Ahi Tuna Wontons.

Sesame-seared ahi tuna is served with seaweed salad and Asian slaw on a crisp wonton, creating a combination of fresh, savory and crunchy elements.

The dish will be paired with MAN Free-Run Steen Chenin Blanc, a South African Chenin Blanc selected specifically for the first course.

It's a bright way to begin the dinner and an introduction to the style of pairing guests can expect throughout the evening.

The Second Course: Jumbo Lump Crab Cake & Sauvignon Blanc

The second course brings the flavors of the Mid-Atlantic together with a wine from South Africa.

Guests will enjoy a Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Summer Corn & Jalapeño Slaw, paired with MAN Warrelwind Sauvignon Blanc.

The crab cake highlights one of the ingredients most closely associated with the coastal dining experience around Bethany Beach, while the corn and jalapeño slaw add sweetness, freshness and a little heat.

The Sauvignon Blanc provides the wine component for the second pairing.

It's a pairing that brings two very different places together—Delaware's coastal food culture and South African winemaking.

The Third Course: Pan Seared Duck Breast & Pinotage

For the third course, the evening moves into richer territory.

Sedona's Pan Seared Duck Breast with Parmesan Risotto will be paired with MAN Bosstok Pinotage.

The duck is rich and tender, finished with a blueberry red wine reduction and served with creamy Parmesan risotto and sautéed vegetables.

Pinotage is particularly appropriate for this point in the dinner, as the wine brings the South African identity of the evening into sharper focus.

This is where the dinner begins to transition from the lighter opening courses into deeper, more substantial flavors.

The Final Course: Garlic Peppercorn Filet Tips & Cabernet Sauvignon

The evening concludes with a bold final pairing.

Garlic Peppercorn Filet Tips with Hand-Cut Old Bay Fries will be served with MAN Ou Kalant Cabernet Sauvignon.

The filet tips are seasoned with garlic and peppercorn and paired with Sedona's hand-cut Old Bay fries. The MAN Cabernet Sauvignon completes the four-course progression with a wine selected to stand alongside the richer final course.

It's a fitting way to finish an evening that moves from crisp white wines and seafood into richer reds and beef.

Meet the Winemaker

One of the most distinctive parts of this dinner is the opportunity to meet Riaan Möller, Head Winemaker of MAN Family Wines.

Rather than simply tasting a wine from a bottle, guests will have the opportunity to hear directly from the winemaker behind the wines being served.

That adds another dimension to the evening.

You can taste a wine and enjoy it.

But understanding where it comes from, how it is made and the person responsible for creating it can make the experience much more memorable.

A Small Dinner by Design

A Taste of South Africa isn't being designed as a large, traditional restaurant event.

There are only 58 seats available.

That limited size allows the evening to remain intimate and gives guests the opportunity to experience the food, wine and conversation in a more personal setting.

For Sedona, that fits naturally with the atmosphere we've created in Bethany Beach.

Our dining room and cozy bar have always been places where people come together over dinner, wine and conversation. The entire Sedona menu is also available in the bar area, where guests can enjoy fine wine and cocktails in a more relaxed setting.

For this particular evening, however, the focus is on the four-course experience and the wines of MAN Family Wines.

A great wine dinner should be more than four glasses of wine and four courses of food.

It should be an experience.

That's what we're looking forward to creating at Sedona.
